Technology and Material Analysis

This research project is comprised of 3 A1 sheets that focussed on a particular precedent, multiple material precedents and architectural elements. For my initial precedent, I looked at Carlo Scarpa’s staircase from the Olivetti showroom. My cad drawings helped me to build my 1:20 scale model replica using mdf offcuts and spraypaint.

The second sheet focusses on case specific materials and construction techniques that are less common, diving into the details that are not so obvious when observing the architecture at face value.

The final sheet goes into detail regarding architectural features in particular projects, showing the technical aspects of a ceiling, wall and flooring.
