This project represents a landmark in the architect's multi-year journey, where the interaction with Emirati culture, across various design contexts, achieves a balance between function and the architectural representation of the artefact. The Ladies Club is a facility dedicated to women’s well-being in the broadest sense, encompassing body care, sports practices, good food, and pure leisure. Functionally, it is an architectural typology that combines diverse environments found in many other facilities such as hotels, wellness centres, and sports complexes. However, symbolically, it must evoke the exclusivity of the female world in the local culture. The master plan lays the foundation for developing an organic composition that integrates volumes and covered surfaces with canopy structures, artificial and natural water mirrors shaped by the lagoon site, and the design of green spaces, all inspired by vegetal forms like leaves and petals. The organic forms also define the stone walls that delineate the external volume and curve to protect the internal space. The curved lines lighten the perception of the masonry mass, forming a dynamic composition. The concave shape of the floor plan delimits a protected outdoor space. The interior areas open with large windows onto the festive area, sheltered by the large canopy and overlooking the outdoor pool.Even the interiors of the Club House and the sports activity rooms are shaped by curvilinear walls, creating a fluid and dynamic perception of the space open to the exterior without interruptions. The use of natural stone for wall cladding and flooring, combined with the metallic elements of canopies and continuous glass windows, contributes to creating an architecture designed to convey a refined, sleek, and modern style, while still maintaining a connection to local traditions.
