VILLA MP : Villa in Babolkenar – The Harmony of Architecture and Nature

In response to the growing inclination to escape the congestion of cities and the rising desire for a calmer, nature-connected lifestyle, our clients, a young couple, decided to purchase a plot of land in the verdant Babolkenar region. Their goal was to design a villa that would serve as a permanent residence while also providing the opportunity to generate income by renting out parts of the property. OR_STUDIO was tasked with the design, aiming to create a multi-functional space that meets modern living needs while fostering a close relationship with the natural environment.

The form of the villa was designed with both functionality and aesthetics in mind. Transparent walls have been strategically placed to allow natural light to penetrate the spaces, while openings and angled surfaces optimize airflow and comfort. Sustainability was prioritized in the design, with solar panels positioned towards the south and southwest to maximize energy efficiency. This form creates a distinctive presence, setting the villa apart from its neighbors and sparking curiosity with its unconventional design.

One of the primary concerns in this project was addressing the unchecked spread of private villas in northern Iran, especially in environmentally sensitive areas. By providing high-quality short-term accommodations, this project reduces the need for further construction and helps preserve the region's natural beauty. Additionally, with an emphasis on renewable energy resources, the villa has become an example of sustainable, eco-friendly architecture. This approach not only contributes to the preservation of the region's natural resources but also promotes a new way of living that can help reduce pressure on natural areas and curb uncontrolled migration in the near future.
